In 1999 Aer Rianta introduced a Bye-Law which obliges all service providers at the State airports to make available such facilities, as are required by passengers with disability in order that they may avail themselves of all airport services. Passengers with a visual or hearing impairment may take their guide animals on board with them. Most toilets on planes to the UK and Europe do not have wheelchair accessible toilets, however hand rails are installed in most cubicles, except on Fokker 50 aircraft. On some longer flights there may be an onboard wheelchair which facilitates access to the toilets.
